Get Outside and Celebrate Happy Hoodie Hoo Day!

Another fun and funny holiday to chase away the winter blues away (if you have winter blues, that is). If not just make a snow man or a snow angel or just revel in the snow!

National Hoodie Hoo Day is kinda like the Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin  to chase the winter away…here’s an article about it.

Jura E8 Automatic Coffee Center/Espresso Maker

While out meeting with clients I had a customer rave about this super fancy kitchen coffee center and I was curious. He said this was better for each person (and the environment) than Kuerig coffee maker so I looked into it and have fallen in love with the Jura E8 Capresso Coffee Center/Espresso Maker automatic coffee center. I did compare the Jura E8 to the Jura Giga 5 Automatic Coffee Machine, Piano Black and chose the Jura E8 Capresso Coffee Center/Espresso Maker because is more practical and affordable and does a fabulous job of brewing awesome coffee/espresso quickly and well. My coffee fix is deliciously satisfied affordably at home saving me from Starbucks runs. I’m inspired to invite friends and colleagues over to enjoy a great fresh hot cup of coffee or espresso now, too.

This machine is simple to set up and prep with water, coffee beans, and the filter. There is a video that comes with the machine to help set it up if you’re trying to figure it out from the manual, too.

The machine cleans itself and will brew 15 different types of coffee for you AND froth the milk for you as well if you’d like! My personal favorite is the “flat white” setting since it is so delicious for me to enjoy this flat white coffee drink. Yum!

I have seen reviews saying the coffee wasn’t hot, however, that is not my experience with the coffee from the Jura E8 Automatic Coffee Center/Espresso Maker. It’s plenty hot and (for me) I actually wait a moment to let it cool a bit before drinking it.

It is easy to fill the beans and the water and is so compact and beautiful on the kitchen counter.

Emptying the grounds from the bin is also super easy since it’s in a drawer like bin.

The Jura E8 Capresso Coffee Center/Espresso Maker heats up quickly and cleans itself quickly too.

  • Easy to use
  • Piano black housing
  • Pure extraction process optimizing extraction and best aroma
  • Fast and hot beverages
  • Six levels aroma G3 grinder
  • Professional find foam frother for coffee such as the flat white coffee drink (yes I do love that one)
  • Self cleaning coffee maker
(for the most part…you will have to discard the grounds and refill the water vessel part of the coffee center)
  • Use your own coffee beans (top loading)
  • This machine performs solidly and consistently well

I welcome your comments and reviews below to learn more about your experience with the Jura E8 Capresso Coffee Center/Espresso Maker. Thanks!

Charge up! Celebrate National Battery Day!

Charge up! Celebrate National Battery Day!

Today is National Battery Day, commemorating the birth of Italian pioneering physicist Alessandro Volta born on 18 February 1745 and inventor of batteries. People have been getting a charge out of the Alessandro Volta invention for centuries ever since. Clearly this is one the the major inventions of the 19th century so charge up now or at least get a charge out of one of the most used inventions still used today! I love recharging my batteries (literally and figuratively) and am heading outside to recharge shortly. Whether you recharge by being inside or enjoying the outdoors, take the time to charge up today and honor Volta’s invention. Carica, tutti!

All I Really Needed to Know I Learned from the

Lego Batman Movie (spoilers…total spoilers folks!)

10 Lessons I Learned from the Lego Batman Movie

1.“Life doesn’t give you seatbelts.”
Alfred Pennyworth’s not always around to outfit for seatbelts either so be resilient flexible and adaptable.

2.“If you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make a change. Hoo.”
Like it or not, sometimes taking a look at yourself (or accepting what Alfred and others say about you will make a difference in making a change to make the world a better place! Hoo yeah! How to make a change in my life is its own tricked out vigilante journey!

3.“It takes a village and not a Batman.”
Being a vigilante isn’t everything. All the money and stuff in the world isn’t as satisfying as the village.

4.“I’ve been parented!”
Pretty AWESOME when you’ve been an orphan or wanna feel loved and accepted!

5.Logo and product placement can be very funny (and profitable, too).
‘nuff said.

6.“I like to fight around.”
Relationships take time and maybe fighting around til you find the ideal bad guy is the way to go. Play around with what you love (or hate) and you’ll find what works for you. {vbg}

7.“Black is a scary way to open.”
You have to open somehow…How else should the dark knight open but in a scary way?

8.“What’s the secret password? Iron Man sucks.”
Having a fun secret password can lighten things up and make you laugh (and others laugh, too…maybe not Iron Man, though)

9.It’s ok to say “I’m s…ssss…(orry)
Sometimes someone might need to help you along with finishing saying that sorry, too…tee hee…like BatGirl

10.It’s okay to give a big old H-U-G!
Hugging is an awesome thing

All I Really Needed to Know I Learned from the Lego Movie:

10 Lessons I Learned from the Lego Movie

The Lego Movie gives us lots of lessons whether we are kids (or kids at heart) or adults. I love the “Everything is Awesome” lyrics in the Lego Movie and am excited about the Lego Batman movie soon to be on the big screen. Here’s the 10 lessons I learned from the Lego Movie which is all I really need to know:

1. Everything is awesome.

2. Live your dreams now. Live life from 0-99 (or more).

3. Follow the “How to Fit In” Instruction Guide. Carry it with you everyday. These may not be the rules to get along with others yet its a start. School (and life in general) doesn’t always teach us how to fit in.

4. Get along with others.Everybody won’t like you. It’d be weird if they did. It’s ok.

5. We’re all special (even if nobody else sees it in our everyday life).

6. We all have a Piece of Resistance on our back. The question is what are we going to do with it?

7. I am the Master Builder in my life…sometimes I just need to mix up my Legos to create my own Land (wherever and whatever I want in Legoland).

8. Be creative, flexible, and innovative. The Kragle doesn’t have to freeze us up.

9. Fitting in—even for Legos—is not everything. It’s good to mix it up (Lego kits included or other fun possibilities).

10. Play, laugh, learn and remember: “Everything is AWESOME!”

New Mexico Outdoor Adventures

New Mexico Outdoor Adventures

What’s the weather like where you are right now? What outdoor adventures could you have? New Mexico has many outdoor adventures and right now I’m thrilled to enjoy a wee bit of fresh air through New Mexico outdoor adventures in the mountains of northeastern New Mexico. I’ve always wanted to see New Mexico and my dream finally came true through a short term contract opportunity.

Today I thrilled with a wonderful hike after a snow storm. I grew up in very rural western New York and miss the rolling hills, farmland, and open spaces as well as the creeks, lakes and rivers.

Today’s hike allowed me to revel in the majestic snow covered mountains and pasturelands that were peaceful on this sunny day.

My oh my! I’d like to say I just spent wayyy too much time with my butt inside, but the truth of the matter is I’ve been away from my blogs and remiss in sharing how I’ve gotten off my butt and gone outside. It’s great to be back here sharing about some again about getting outside and getting fresh air.

Today’s outdoor adventures will lead to more tomorrow and the next several days here in New Mexico. I won’t have time to go to Taos this trip but I do hope to go there and enjoy the great outdoors as many others have done and are probably doing right now.

NM Life App

I discovered an app I hope will help as I venture in outdoors New Mexico: NM Life offering indoors activities (which I may share in my “Things To Do To Get Off Your Butt” area). The Unique and Unusual feature of this app appeals to me as well. The big feature of this app I will use for this trip will be “Explore Santa Fe.” I’ve always wanted to see Santa Fe and the Georgia O’Keefe Museum is top on my visiting list.

What outdoor adventures do you enjoy? Are any of you snowshoers? I wish I had a sled with me because I’d love to sled down any of the hills here in northeastern New Mexico right now? Have you visited New Mexico or Santa Fe? Do you have any recommendations for me for this trip or future trips to New Mexico or elsewhere? I’d love to hear any comments or suggestion below. Thanks for stopping by! ~ t

Feliz Dia de Los Muertos / Day of the Dead…All Souls Day

Feliz Dia de Los Muertos / Day of the Dead…All Souls Day

Today and tomorrow is Dia de Los Muertos which is a great time to go outside, celebrate and honor the dead. Who can you honor that has died—gone to their eternal sleep—by cleaning and decorating their graves? Children’s graves are decorated today during Dia de Los Inocentes (1st November ) with white marigolds and baby’s breath. Tomorrow place orange marigolds around the graves of those you love who died as adults.

Remember your deceased loved one by personal special momentos and enjoying their favorite food in the celebratory spirit of Dia de Los Muertos.
